Ex-minister Cho Kuk set free under presidential pardon

Former Justice Minister Cho Kuk, former leader of the minor Rebuilding Korea Party, is released under a presidential pardon from Seoul Southern Detention Center in the capital on Aug. 15, 2025, after serving eight months of his two-year prison term for academic fraud involving his children and unlawful interference with a government inspection.
