BTS' pop-up stores to open in four more Asian cities

SEOUL, May 24 (Yonhap) -- K-pop global star BTS will open pop-up stores in four more Asian cities as a result of fans' favorable responses.

 

HYBE IP, which create various content and products for its agency HYBE, announced on the 24th that an offline showcase for the BTS pop-up store "BTS Pop-Up: Map of the Soul: 7" opened in Bangkok, Thailand on May 1st.

 

The stores will be opened in Manila on the 29th and Taipei on September 12th.

 

From last year up to February 2021, "BTS Pop-up: Map of the Soul" provided items and based on songs from their studio album "Map of the Soul: 7" both offline and online in five regions around the world, including Korea, the United States, Japan, Asia and Europe.

 

The pop-up store showcase in Seoul attracted a total of 70,000 visitors for four months, while attracting about 30,000 visitors in Singapore showcase for four months after its opening, extending the operation period by two months.

 

"BTS Pop-Up: Space of BTS," a retail pop-up store that focus on showcasing household goods and fashion products, will also open in Singapore on the 28th.

 

In Korea, the pop-up store operated in four cities, Seoul, Busan, Daegu and Gwangju, through a  partnership with Lotte Department Store until February 28th.

 

In Japan, it has partnered with Universal Japan and opened in a total of 13 cities, including Shibuya, Nagoya, Osaka and Sapporo, with about 240,000 visitors in three months.

 

"The BTS pop-up store is comforting fans around the world during the pandemic situations," HYBE IP said. "We will continue to allow more fans to interact with BTS's music through various products and space experiences."
