SEOUL, June 15 (Yonhap) -- The total number
of simultaneous views of the latest two-day online fan meeting by K-pop boy
group BTS reached 1.33 million, the K-pop act's agency said Tuesday.
Big Hit Music announced that 1.33 million people in 195 countries and regions
watched BTS' eighth debut anniversary fan meeting "BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo,"
which took place through online streaming from June 13-14.
"Muster" is an expression that refers to a large fan meeting held by
BTS with its fandom "ARMY." Since the "BTS 5th Muster [Magic
Shop]," it is the first time in two years since the band has organized a
fan meeting.
Although the fan meeting could not be held in person at a real concert hall, BTS
focused on providing a realistic atmosphere by performing live on a large-scale
outdoor stage, which was reminiscent of
a festival.
"The sound and camera production, which are the basics of creating a live
performance atmosphere, added a sense of freedom and liveliness to the event,"
Big Hit Music said.
The BTS members performed on a stage that was shaped like the number '8' as
well as an infinity symbol, in order to mark the eighth anniversary of their
debut. Like the title 'Sowoozoo' or Microcosms in English, the background of
the stage was decorated with various props that resembled planets, creating a spectacular
atmosphere.
In particular, the performance stage looked as if fans were seated in the
audience as there were large monitors, which showcased a number of ARMYs
watching the concert, in front of the stage.
Fans who were shown on the monitors also sang along and recorded their cheers
for the BTS members in advance, creating an atmosphere that seemed like the
fans were actually shouting in joy.
The members sang 15 songs for 130 minutes, including encore songs such as
'Butter', 'Dynamite' and 'Life Goes On'.
In particular, fans showed explosive responses when BTS reinterpreted the songs
it released as solo mixtapes (non-regular albums) altogether.
On the first day of the concert, Suga performed "Daechwita," which
was released last year, and on the second day, J-Hope presented "Chicken
Noodle Soup," a song featuring American singer Becky G, with the rest of
the members.
As the fan meeting came to an end, BTS members said, "I can't wait until
we can all breathe in one space together. We want to see our ARMYs as soon as
possible after everything gets better."
"The deeper the night, the brighter the light shines. We hope everyone always
remember that we are constantly sending light to each other."
Furthermore BTS will release a single CD including the hit song "Butter,"
which topped the Billboard main singles chart for three consecutive weeks, and
a new song on July 9. This day is also the same day when BTS' fan club was
named 'ARMY'.
