SEOUL, June 29 (Yonhap) -- K-pop dynamo BTS
has done it again. The superband's music video for its hit summer number "Butter"
recorded a total of 400 million views on YouTube, along with topping the U.S.
Billboard's main singles chart for the fifth straight week.
The music video for "Butter" released
on May 21, exceeded 400 million views at 11:01 p.m. on Monday and became BTS' thirteenth
music video with more than 400 million views on YouTube.
The septet's 2021 hit racked up 3.9 million viewers at the time of its release,
setting the highest record for the first screening of a YouTube music video. The
video was also recorded 182 million views, making it the most watched YouTube
music video in history within a span of 24 hours. The "Butter" music
video also has four different Guinness World Records.
According to a Billboard article published on June 28, "Butter"
continued to top the Billboard main single chart "Hot 100" for five
consecutive weeks, breaking BTS' longest-running No. 1 record.
""Butter" has spent its first five weeks on the Hot 100 at No.1. Of the 54 titles that have launched at No.1, "Butter" is just the 11th to spend at least its first five weeks on the chart at the summit," Billboard said Monday (U.S. time) on its website.
