SEOUL, May 26 (Yonhap) -- Girl group Mamamoo will be releasing a mini-album "WAW," with a ballad song as its title track for the first time since their debut, on June 2 according to the girl group's agency RBW.

RBW explained that "WAW" is an album that captures the members' deep thoughts and heartfelt feelings they have felt since their debut.

The mini-album was named after the first letters of "Where Are We," which is a question Mamamoo frequently had asked themselves.

The ballad title track of "WAW is called "Where Are We Now."

Mamamoo has released ballads over the years as free singles or songs that were part of an album, but it is the first time in seven years to be selected as the title track.

In the teaser video for "Where Are We Now" posted on YouTube, the members gathered in a camping car while singing the lyrics, "Under this beautiful star and place, I remember the two of us dreaming of the same dream."

In addition to the new album, Mamamoo will begin its "2021 Where Are We (WAW)" project to mark the seventh anniversary of the girl group's debut.

They will hold a solo concert this summer, which was postponed last year due to the outbreak of  the corona virus, and also release a documentary within this year.

Meanwhile, as the members were approaching the expiration date of their exclusive contracts with RBW, members Moonbyul, Solar, and Hwasa recently signed a renewal contract, except Wheein. RBW denied speculation on Mamamoo's disbandment and stated that Wheein is in the process of discussing her renewal of the contract in depth with the agency.
