SEOUL, May 12 (Yonhap) -- Actor Kim Jung-hyun (31), who has
recently faced a series of controversial issues regarding his private life and
conflict with his agency, announced that his contract with his current agency
has expired.
StoryLime, a public relations company in charge of Kim
Jung-hyun's personal promotion, said in an official statement on Wednesday,
"Kim Jung-hyun's contract with his agency O&Entertainment has expired."
Regarding the recent scandals, including the actor's private
relationships, StoryLime explained, "Kim Jung-hyun's brother was the one
who negotiated with the actor's agency, since Kim Jung-hyun himself was
struggling with health issues at the time. This lead a large number of unconfirmed
stories, including the actor's personal information, to be leaked into the
press.
However, "Now that the exclusive contract period with Kim
Jung-hyun's agency is over, we are trying to correct the rumors and take care
of the damage caused to the actor," StoryLime explained.
According to a report released by local tabloid Dispatch last
month, Kim Jung-hyun refused to make contact his co-star Seohyun, at the press
conference and on the set of MBC TV drama "Time," in 2018. It was
reported that the actor eventually dropped out because of the constant demands made
by actress Seo Yea-ji, who was in a relationship with Kim Jung-hyun at the
time.
Without directly mentioning Seo Yea-ji, Kim Jung-hyun
apologized, saying, "I have no excuse, I apologize for my mistake and for
not being able to fulfill my responsibilities as the main character and actor
of the drama."
