Motion for PPP lawmaker's arrest submitted to parliament

Kweon Seong-dong, a lawmaker of the main opposition People Power Party, is seated during a plenary session at the National Assembly in Seoul on Sept. 9, 2025. A motion seeking Kweon's arrest was submitted to parliament the same day after a special counsel team filed for an arrest warrant last month against him for allegedly receiving 100 million won (US$72,000) in illegal political funds from a former Unification Church official in 2022.
