Making Korean rice cakes ahead of holiday
A man lays out "garaetteok," a Korean rice cake stick, just churned out of a rice cake machine at his shop at a traditional market in the southeastern port city of Busan on Jan. 15, 2025, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, which falls on Jan. 29 this year. Garaetteok is a staple used to make a traditional soup of sliced rice cake eaten during the holiday. (Yonhap)
