S. Korea's dispatch of Hanbit unit to South Sudan

A contingent of South Korean soldiers shouts slogans during a send-off ceremony at the International Peace Supporting Standby Force in Incheon, west of Seoul, on July 29, 2025, as the 20th batch of the 300-strong Hanbit unit leaves for South Sudan on an eight-month mission. South Korea began troop deployments to South Sudan in 2013 at the U.N.'s request in accordance with a U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at assisting peaceful reconstruction work. (Yonhap)
