SEOUL, July 2 (Yonhap) -- Kakao Games announced on Friday (KST) that its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “Odin: Valhalla Rising” has ranked No. 1 in sales of both Google and Apple app stores.
Odin, launched on June 29th (KST), is a new game developed by South Korean video game developer Lionheart Studio, with more than 4 million people having signed up for pre-orders before the game’s official release.
Odin ranked No. 1 in Apple’s App Store in terms of sales right after its release as well as Google Play, four days after.
Kakao Games added four new servers just one day after Odin’s launch as users surged. Kakao is planning to open five more.
Odin, a game that features Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ characters such as ‘Thor’, ‘Rocky’, and ‘Odin’, is based on Nordic mythology.
