SEOUL, May 24 (Yonhap) -- BTS's new song "Butter" has heated up Twitter.
According to Twitter on Monday, ever since BTS released the digital single "Butter" through its official Twitter account at 1 p.m. on the 21st (KST), the number of related tweets posted tallied up to 31 million per day.
From 1-2 p.m., the total number of tweets reached 5 million.
Including the pre-release teasing period, the total amount reached 300 million from April 24 to May 23.
As of the day of release, many tweets were made in Korea, the U.S., Indonesia, Brazil, and Japan.
Twitter automatically applied the heart-shaped yellow butter logo next to any hash tags related to BTS's "Butter" single, such as "#BTS_Butter" while putting a yellow logo of for BTS and ARMY including, "#BTS"·"#BTSARMY."
Kim Yeon-jung, the Head of Global K-pop & K Content Partnership on Twitter, said, "ARMYs around the world have personally proved how far the power of global K-pop fandom on Twitter can reach by generating 300 million tweets a month in support of the release of #BTS_Butter."
