Lee inspects southeastern region hit hard by heavy rains
SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung on Monday visited a southeastern town severely hit by the recent heavy rains to inspect ongoing rescue and recovery efforts and call for measures to help flood victims, his office said.
Lee visited Sancheong County, located about 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul, where 10 people have been confirmed dead, four remain missing, and two others were seriously injured after a record downpour pounded the region.
Approximately 1,260 personnel and 180 pieces of equipment have been mobilized for rescue and recovery efforts, according to local authorities.
