Acclaimed theater actor Yoon Seok-hwa dies at 69
SEOUL, Dec. 19 (Yonhap) -- Theater actor Yoon Seok-hwa has died following her battle with a brain tumor, the Korean Actors Association said Friday. She was 69.
The veteran actress passed away Thursday night.
She had undergone surgery for a malignant brain tumor in October 2022.
Her final stage appearance came in August 2023, when she made a five-minute guest appearance in the play "Toccata."
Born in Seoul in 1956, Yoon made her debut in a 1975 play. She gained popularity in the theater world with performances in numerous productions and later expanded her career to include work as both a producer and director.
She is survived by her husband, daughter and son.
