SEOUL, May 18 (Yonhap) -- The Baeksang Arts Awards' second consecutive winner for supporting actor, Oh Jung-se's next work is set to be TV Chosun's new drama "Uncle."
TV Chosun announced on the 18th that Oh Jung-se, Jeon Hye-jin, Park Sun-young, Lee Sang-woo, and Hwang Woo-seul-hye will appear in the new drama "Uncle."
Based on the British drama of the same name, "Uncle" tells the story of an uncle who took care of his nephew, an elementary school student with anxiety disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder, due to his sister's divorce.
Oh Jung-se plays Wang Joon-hyuk, an unemployed uncle who stood on the brink of fraud, and Jeon Hye-jin plays Wang Joon-hee, who chose to divorce after 12 years of marriage to protect her child from domestic violence.
Park Sun-young plays Park Hye-ryeong, the chairman of Mom Cafe and the local "queen bee," while Lee Sang-woo plays Joo Kyung-il, a widower who raises his daughter alone, and Hwang Woo-seul-hye plays Kim Yu-ra, the face of the Mom Cafe and Hye-ryeong's right-hand man.
The production team of "Uncle" said, "It is a work that will give sympathy and healing to all generations through common interests such as family, conflicts in residential spaces, education problems, and societal status."
The drama is set to air in the second half of the year.
