SEOUL, June 25 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy band Seventeen performed its title track "Ready to Love" from its eighth mini-album "Your Choice" on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" talk show on Wednesday (KST), announced the K-pop act's agency Pledis Entertainment.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! is ABC's popular talk show hosted by Emmy award-winning comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who has previously invited world-class artists such as Billie Eilish, The Weekend and Maroon 5. This performance marked Seventeen's debut on the talk show.
Recently, Seventeen postponed promotional activities for its new album as all members are undergoing self-quarantine after they came in close contact with two COVID-19 patients. The performance video that was broadcast on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show was pre-recorded ahead of time.
Seventeen appeared in casual suits on a stage decorated by many mobile phones and performed a charismatic performance. In the middle of the stage, some Seventeen members seemed to be highlighted using special lights, which attracted more attention to the performance.
The 13-member group has been actively targeting the global music market and has proved to hold a solid fandom by recording high sale records with "Your Choice" that surpassed its previous album sales.
The EP, which sold 880,000 copies on its first day of release, racked up 1.14 million copies in four days. "Your Choice" is now Seventeen's fourth million-selling and fastest-selling album. This record beat the group's previous record which was held with its seventh mini-album "Heng: garae."
