SEOUL, March 26 (Yonhap) -- Actor Kim Soo-hyun has canceled his upcoming fan meeting in Taiwan just five days before the event, following allegations that he dated the late Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.

Taiwan’s 7-Eleven announced on Tuesday via its official social media that the Kim Soo-hyun Fan Meeting, originally scheduled for March 30, had been canceled due to "schedule adjustments," making it impossible for the actor to attend.

This event had drawn significant attention as it would have been Kim Soo-hyun’s first public appearance since the dating rumors surfaced.

According to foreign media reports, the cancellation penalty for the fan meeting is estimated to be 30 million New Taiwan Dollars (approximately 1.3 billion won).

On March 10, YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute claimed that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron while she was still a minor, even releasing photos of the two together.

Kim Soo-hyun's representatives acknowledged that the two had dated but stated that their relationship only began after Kim Sae-ron reached adulthood. Additionally, they have filed a lawsuit against Garo Sero Institute’s CEO, Kim Se-ui, for blackmail and other charges.
