S.Korean film 'Broker' to feature as closing film at 'Hawaii International Film Festival'

SEOUL October 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korean movie “Broker” featuring actor Song Kang-ho has been selected as the closing film of the “42nd Hawaii International Film Festival.”

According to the official webpage of Hawaii International Film Festival on Thursday, along with “Broker,” total of 11 various South Korean films such as “Hunt,” “Project Wolf Hunting,” ”Limit,” “Return to Seoul” and more has been invited to the festival.

“Hunt” directed by Lee Jung Jae has been nominated for Centerpiece Presentation, Spotlight on Korea, “Project Wolf Hunting” has been nominated for HIFF Extreme, “Return to Seoul” has been nominated under Panorama and more.

Documentary film “Syngman Rhee’s Thirty Years in Hawaii,” and “The Story of Dreams: Picture Brides” will also be screened under documentary panorama division.

Segment “Spotlight On Korea” which shines light on South Korean films, will feature 7 of the films including “Broker,” “Hunt,” “Remember,” “The Limit” and more.

“Hawaii International Film Festival” which takes place annually, originated in 1981 in order to expedite the process of cultural mixture between Asia, Pacific, and Northern America. The Festival will take place starting on November 3, until 13.
