SEOUL March 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korean police enforcement started their investigation regarding illegal streaming webpage noonoo TV.

According to the Cyber Bureau of Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, on Friday, they have started their investigation regarding the illegal streaming webpage noonoo TV and its organizers.

Noonoo TV has been around since 2021 where they located their main server abroad and providing OTT contents and drama series illegally.

Despite of webpage restrictions, Noonoo TV has been providing their service by dodging the prevention methods.

Based on the record set on February, over 1.53 billion videos has been streamed which exceeds the user rate of OTT users viewing rates among various providers in South Korea.

“We have been working with the case since January, however we have decided to go public with the investigation,” adding “We will work closely with various governmental organizations such as Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and more.” addressed official from the Busan Metropolitan police Agency.

Moreover, movie related organizations decided to go against Noonoo TV for violation of copyrights in order to take down the service.
