SEOUL, Dec. 1 (Yonhap) -- "Men of Plastic," a comedy film starring Ma Dong-seok, came in second in the Korean box office on the first day of its release.
According to the data by Korea Film Council on Thursday, the movie placed second on the daily box office with 96,000 viewers (23.5% of sales share) the day before its release.
The movie revolves around people who dream of becoming successful with beauty business in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam province in 2007. Ma Dong-seok, Jung Kyung-ho, Oh Na-ra, Choi Byung-mo, and Oh Yeon-seo star.
Movie "The Night Owl" starring Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Jun-yeol, topped the chart, gathering 137,000 people (42.4%). The movie, which surpassed total audience of 1 million, has been leading the box office for 8 consecutive days since its release on Nov. 23.
In addition to "Men of Plastic," movies on their first day of release entered the top 10.
They include the animation "One Piece Film Red" (3rd), the documentary "NCT DREAM THE MOVIE : In A DREAM" (4th), "Birth" (5th), "Bones and All" (8th), etc.
