A member of the theater troupe Chaimu, Park began her acting career in media with small roles in productions like A Killer Story and Maria and the Inn in 1997. She first took on a significant role in Kim Ki-duk's film The Coast Guard (2002) and continued to appear in other works by the director, including Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (2003), 3-Iron (2004), Breath (2007), and Dream (2008).
Park left a memorable impression in the horror film Epitaph (2007), where she played a ghost, and she continued to take on various roles across films and dramas.
Most recently, she gained attention for her portrayal of Jung Mi-hee, the mother of the lead character Moon Dong-eun (played by Song Hye-kyo), in the 2022-2023 Netflix original series The Glory. Her realistic portrayal of a mother who neglects her bullied daughter and sees her only as a means of profit earned critical acclaim.
Park's wake will be held in Room 2 of the funeral hall at Seoul Asan Medical Center in Songpa District, and the funeral will take place on October 2 at 10 p.m.
