SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actor Kim Su-ro tested positive for COVID-19 along with four other people from the filming site of an upcoming drama.

The production team announced Wednesday that after Kim confirmed to have contracted the virus, all staff members who were present on set were tested for COVID-19. A total of four people tested positive and all filming schedules have been put on hold.

"After Kim Su-ro didn't feel too good, he voluntarily took a COVID-19 test and was confirmed to have contracted the virus on Nov. 30," Kim's agency SM C&C said. Kim was also planning to receive a booster shot this week after having been fully vaccinated.

"Kim Su-ro is currently in self-quarantine at home, and the actor's personal staff, including his manager, have been tested negative," the agency added.

The upcoming drama, starring actors Lim Soo-hyang and Sung Hoon, is a romantic comedy about a woman whose life suddenly turns upside down after being involved in a medical accident.

The entertainment industry has failed to avoid the surge in the spread of COVID-19 after South Korea's full-fledged efforts to return to normalcy with a gradual easing of virus restrictions under the "living with COVID-19" scheme that began last month.

Previously, actors Jung Woo-sung and Ko Kyung-pyo were confirmed to have COVID-19, and the cast and production teams for KBS 2TV's dramas "School 2020," "The All-Round Wife," "Young Lady and Gentlemen," and MBC TV's audition entertainment show "The Wild Idol," were also tested positive.
