SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Yonhap) -- Disney+’s original series "Moving," based on the popular webtoon by Kang Full, will make its terrestrial broadcast debut on MBC, marking an unprecedented collaboration between a global OTT platform and a Korean broadcaster.
The series is set to launch at 10 p.m. on Dec. 22, seeking a Christmas week boost. The show will feature episodes 1 through 8 in a special programming block, followed by two episodes per week starting in January 2025.
Moving tells the story of individuals with hidden superpowers who band together to face overwhelming threats in order to protect their children. The star-studded cast includes Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Zo In-sung, Cha Tae-hyun, and Kim Sung-kyun.
While it has become common for terrestrial dramas to debut on OTT platforms, this marks a rare instance of an OTT original series airing on a terrestrial network. MBC highlighted this as the first formal collaboration between a global OTT service and a domestic broadcaster.
An official from MBC’s Content Strategy Team remarked, “Moving is a mega-hit on Disney+, but many viewers have yet to experience it. This collaboration expands access to high-quality content leading K-culture, offering viewers the chance to enjoy it for free on MBC.”
