SEOUL December 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korean historical thriller film “The OWL” is expected to guard its place on top of the South Korean box office despite of premieres of upcoming movies.

According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Friday, South Korean movie “The OWL” topped S.Korean box office since the day it premiered on November 23 for 9 consecutive days.

By using word of mouth “The OWL” is attracting more audiences than of previous week. Until Thursday, “The OWL” has successfully attracted over 1.21 million audiences.

Movie “The Owl” featuring actor Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Jun-yeol is a movie about a blind fortune teller who witnesses the death of So Hyeon, the crown prince, going on a journey to uncover the truth.

South Korean comedy movie “Men of Plastic” which premiered on November 30, guarded its place on the second of S.Korean box office by attracting 99 thousand admissions until Thursday.

Based on the reservation rate accumulated on the morning of Friday, “The OWL” hit the 30.9 percent mark topping the list and “Men of Plastic” followed right behind “The OWL” by scoring 14.2 percent reservation rate.

Animation movie “One Piece: Film Red,” South Korean movie “Birth” and more are getting ready to meet the audience this coming weekend.
