Seoul, March 11, (Yonhap) -- GenieTV's original drama series, "The Midnight Studio" featuring a photo studio capturing the final moments of ghosts, premiered on March 11. Actor Joo Won expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "It feels like the piece I've been searching for. A heartwarming drama that provides healing while acting, and vice versa. It's been a while since I shed tears while reading the script alone." The production presentation was held at the Stanford Hotel Korea in Seoul.

The 16-episode series revolves around a photographer, burdened with the fate of capturing photos for the deceased, and a passionate lawyer, formerly a prosecutor. The fantasy romance drama unfolds the stories of ghosts visiting the photo studio, offering a mixture of humor, excitement, and emotion. Simultaneously, it depicts the evolving relationship between the two main characters.

Joo Won takes on the role of Seo Gi-joo, inheriting the profession of a ghost-specialized photographer. Seo Gi-joo, cursed to die at the age of 35, encounters Han Bom, a ghost unaffected by his abilities, giving him hope to overcome the curse.

Kwon Nara plays Han Bom, a former prosecutor turned practical lawyer due to her overly meddlesome nature. Han Bom possesses the ability to neutralize the power of ghosts, adding an intriguing element to the storyline.

Kwon Nara expressed her motivation for joining the drama, stating, "The episodes in the drama remind me of my loving parents and children, evoking empathy. It's a warm story that I wanted to participate in."

Actor Eum Moon Suk, portraying a ghost with an unjust story who works at the photo studio, shared a personal moment during the production presentation. He mentioned " while reading the script with his older sister, it reminded us of our father, causing us to break into tears."

Directed by Song Hyun Wook, known for works like "Another Miss Oh" (2016), "Beauty Inside" (2018), and "The King's Affection" (2021), he expressed confidence in creating a diverse drama with elements of comedy, fantasy, action, and emotion.

"The Midnight Studio" airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10:00 PM KST on GenieTV.
