LONDON, Feb. 9(Yonhap) – K-pop superband BTS has been nominated for the “BRIT Awards 2022,” the most prestigious popular music awards ceremony in the UK, for two consecutive years, but failed to win the award.

At the “BRIT Awards 2022,” held at O2 Arena in London on Feb. 8(U.K. time), BTS was named as a nominee for the “International Group of the Year” category, but the trophy went to Silk Sonic, an R&B duo composed of pop stars Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak.

The nominees also included ABBA, who made a comeback in 40 years with the new album, and an Italian rock band Måneskin, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, which is the largest music festival in Europe.

BTS was nominated for the “International Group of the Year” category for the first time in 2021. The group also became the first Korean to receive the nomination.
