SEOUL, Feb. 18 (Yonhap) -- Actress Lee Ha-nee was subject to a tax audit and subsequently paid a large sum in additional taxes, her agency belatedly revealed.
Her agency, Team HOFF, stated on Monday, "Lee Ha-nee underwent a non-regular integrated tax audit for corporate artists by the Seoul Regional Tax Office last year, during which she paid additional taxes."
The additional amount reportedly amounted to approximately 6 billion won.
However, the agency clarified that the tax payment was not due to tax evasion and that the full amount had already been paid.
"This additional tax resulted from differences in interpretation between tax authorities and tax agents," Team HOFF explained. "It has nothing to do with intentional tax omission."
The agency further emphasized, "Lee Ha-nee has faithfully fulfilled her tax obligations in accordance with legal procedures and under the guidance of her tax advisors."
