SEOUL, November 15 (Yonhap) -- Kwon Hyuk-bin (48), the founder of Smilegate Group and the Chairman of the Smilegate Foundation, suspected to be getting divorced. 
 

The Seoul Family Court granted an injunction suspending the disposal of Kwon's shares due to the lawsuit his wife, Lee, litigated, according to the IT industry. 


An injunction against the disposal of shares is a request made to the court to prohibit someone from disposing of their share, it is analyzed as an injunction made to consider property division followed by their divorce. 
 
Chairman Kwon, born in 1974, graduated from Sogang University in 1999 with a major in electronic engineering and established Smilegate in 2002. Later, he became CEO, Chairman of Smilegate Holdings, and became the chairman of the Smilegate Foundation, a public utility. In 2020, he became the Chief Visionary Officer (CVO) of Smilegate. 


Smilegate has grown into a major Korean game company as the game "Crossfire," released in 2006, showed great success in China, and in 2018, it launched "Lost Ark," a MMORPG.
