SEOUL, Apr. 29 (Yonhap) – S. Korean singer and producer Zico will be discharged from his mandatory military service as a public service worker on Apr. 29, according to the agency KOZ Entertainment on Friday.
Zico enlisted in the army with 4 weeks of basic training in July, 2020, and carried out the remainder of his duties as a public service worker.
The singer, who debuted as K-pop boy group Block B in 2011, has released various hit songs, including “Human,” “Being Left,” and “Summer Hate.” In particular, “Any Song,” which was dropped in 2020, became a mega-hit song of the year by ranking No.1 on the year-end download and streaming charts.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Zico will not only hold any event regarding his discharge.
KOZ Entertainment said, “Zico will continue his active performances in diverse fields as a singer and a producer.”
