SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Yonhap) – “Titanic” directed by James Cameron, who is the director of box office hit “Avatar: The Way of Water,” is to be re-released in Korea to mark the 25th anniversary of its release.

Distributor Walt Disney Korea has announced that the movie “Titanic: 25th Anniversary” will be opened in local theaters early next month.

Movie is remastered with 4K HDR and can be viewed with clearer image quality and is also shown in a 3D format.

“Titanic,” based on the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, depicts the love of Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio), a free-spirited painter, and Rose (Kate Winslet), who boarded the first-class room with her fiancé.

At the time of its release, it topped the global box office with $1.843.47 billion in revenue worldwide, and the following year, it won 11 awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, at the U.S. Academy Awards.
