SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Yonhap) -- Hallyu star RAIN and S.Korean actor Jo Jung-suk have called for tighter controls on affair rumors that have been spreading, saying it is "groundless."
RAIN's agency Lane & Company said on Thursday through social media that, "The company is aware of rumor and false information, but it is not worth to express our position as it is a complete fallacy," adding, "However, since the rumor has been spreading quickly over yesterday and today, personal attacks and criticism towards the artist and his family have been indiscreetly made, becoming hard to pass over the situation in silence."
The agency added, "We will take strong action against posting unidentified information as if it were true or uploading hateful posts following the defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act and violation of the ban on illegal information distribution with the principle of zero tolerance."
The agency also emphasized that "Before he is a celebrity exposed to the public, dignity, courtesy, and human right as a human has to be protected first."
Actor Jo Jung-suk's JAM Entertainment, through official social media account, said, "Rumor that actor Jo Jung-suk has a relationship with golfer deeper than as just friends have been indiscreetly distributed on various communities and social media," adding, "All of these are complete fallacies."
The entertainment added, "The actor has no personal relationship, not even a slight acquaintance, with any women golfers," adding, "We will take strong legal actions against any malicious acts that damage his dignity."
