SEOUL February 1 (Yonhap) -- “We have incorporated cute but stress relieving punch towards haters within our music.” addressed Eunha of K-pop girl group VIVIZ throughout the media showcase of group’s third mini album “VarioUS” held on January 31.
Moreover, “There are a lot of people who are not comfortable due to people talking behind their backs, however through our music I hope, listeners will be able to enjoy and have a little bit of relief.” addressed VIVIZ during the media showcase.
“VarioUS” is group’s first release of music within 7 months since they last released their music in July of 2022. The title of the album has three capitalized letters for putting the emphasis on the imbedded meanings, first V which stands for the group VIVIZ, and US.
Total of six tracks are included within the group’s third mini album, starting with the title track “Pull Up” followed by “Blue Clue” which depicts how the feeling of love should not be simply compared to the color red, “Vanilla Sugar Killer” which describes a scene where close friends come together to enjoy the dessert, song which tells the importance of self loving and care “So Special” and more.
The title track “Pull Up” withholds rhythmic bass lines with addictive melody and unique brass sound. However the lyrics to the track addresses those who talk behind one’s back.
Lyrics to the title track are very straight forward and strong whereas the dance choreography which puts more power to the words brings interest and entertainment to its listeners.
Through group’s third mini album ‘VarioUS” the group transforms from their previously settled cute and fresh image to more charismatic and sophisticated. The cover art of the album fits group’s new image as well with black and white overlaying tones.
“We were happy to prepare for such track because we haven’t showcased such image and attitude before.” addressed Umji of VIVIZ throughout the media showcase.
Adding on to her statement artist addressed, “Through our title track, we wanted to show our confidence,” adding “The black and white color scheme show our strength and sophisticated looks, moreover, we wanted to incorporate the things we can only pull off when we are within our 20s.”
Throughout the media conference, group addressed their behind story of filming the music video, and how hard it was to not smile nor laugh throughout the shoot.
Eunha of VIVIZ addressed “In order to enhance the strong image we were portraying we have grown out our hair,” adding “I hope our fans will be impressed with our new looks, think, ‘Was Eunha always this charismatic?’”
Members of VIVIZ debuted under the name of GFriend in January of 2015, recently celebrated their 8th anniversary of debut. Whereas, it has been a year since the three of the members who started off a group VIVIZ in 2022 after their activity as GFriend.
Umji of VIVIZ addressed “I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by, I still feel like we are at our highest point,” adding “Also, I can’t believe it has been 8 years since our debut, as time passes on by, ever year seems to be more important. And I am very excited for the days to come.”
Moreover, artist addressed “If we performed the title track ‘Pull Up’ when we were young we would have done it with more strength and power, however, we would have fitted into the concept well.” adding “The more we become mature, greater fun we feel because it feels like we are continuously pulling something buried deep inside of us.”
Due to the current trend and success of regrouping of previous girl group’s such as KARA and more, the interest which lies among the regrouping of GFriend attracts a lot of fans.
As for the subject matter, Eunha of VIVIZ addressed “VIVIZ is not a continuum of GFriend, we are an entirely new group,” adding “Three cannot speak for all of the members, therefore we are very careful of addressing such answers. However we still each other once in a while and have fun.”

We will do our best to spend 2023 as a year to solidify our grounds as VIVIZ.” addressed Eunha throughout the media showcase of group’s third mini album ‘VarioUS.”
