SEOUL, Dec. 27 (Yonhap) -- BTS member RM's album "Indigo" has successfully rebounded by placing third on the Billboard 200 main album chart.

Billboard said in a chart preview article on Monday, "RM has became the first BTS member to place solo album on the top 10 'Billboard 200' chart."

Billboard 200 chart determines the rankings by combining the numbers of traditional album sales such as physical albums, the number of streaming converted into album sales (SEA), and the number of digital downloads converted into album sales (TEA).

Of the 83,000 album sales by "Indigo," 79,000 were physical CD albums and 4,000 SEA. TEA was almost none.

The album debuted at No.15 on Dec.17 but did not make it on the chart the next week.

However, with the recent release of physical CDs, album sales drastically increased, bringing the album to re-enter the chart at No.3.

Ranking third on Billboard 200 chart is the highest record for a Korean solo singer so far. The previous highest was by Nayeon of girl group TWICE, ranking No.7 on Billboard 200 with her first solo album "IM NAYEON" earlier this July.

Billboard said, "RM is the second member to make the Billboard 200 chart as a solo project after J-HOPE debuted on the same chart at No.17 with album "Jack In The Box.'"
