SEOUL, Oct. 4 (Yonhap) -- SBS drama "One Dollar Lawyer," in which comic acting of NamKoong Min shined, achieved dominance in the match between MBC TV and SBS TV.

According to Smart Media Rep (SMR), which distributes video-on-demand (VOD) clips from major broadcasters online, on Monday, the number of clip video playbacks of SBS' "One Dollar Lawyer," which was first aired on Sept. 23, reached 1.36 million cumulative views as of Sept.26.

MBC's "The Gold Spoon," which started airing on the same day, ranked second with a cumulative number of views of 1.27 million.

"One Dollar Lawyer" is a court action drama in which a freaky lawyer, Cheon Ji-hoon (NamKoong Min), takes over a case for only 1,000 won for clients who have no money and no power. It is praised for being a drama that pinpoints the irrationality and prejudice of society.

Cheon Ji-hoon stands with the weak, helping clients in a clever way, and defending pickpocket, who previously convicted four crimes, by revealing prejudices toward ex-convicts.

There are some sayings that settings such as Cheon Ji-hoon and the office manager paying the hospital bills for the client's daughter, is old, Namkoong Min's clever and comical acting brings out the charm of the character and the fun of the drama.

Namkonng min naturally portrays freaky laywer Cheon Ji-hoon, who irons his hair during working hours and who asks the jury, "Do you prefer putting sauce (Boo-muk) over the sweet and sour pork or just dipping (Jjik-muk)?"

The chemistry between the characters also adds the fun of watching. Arrogant Baek-Mari (Kim Ji-eun) who bicker with Cheon Ji-hoon, and the secretary (Park Jin-woo), who takes care of Cheon Ji-hoon add spice to the drama.

MBC's "The Gold Spoon" is a fantasy drama about the story of "dirt spoon" Lee Seung-cheon (Yuk Seong-jae), a poor high school student who gets a mysterious golden spoon that can change his parents.

"The Golden Spoon" raises tension as Lee Seung-chun becomes obsessed with money and takes revenge on his classmates who tormented him after changing his parents to gold spoon, meaning rich parents.

Yook Sung-jae tries to convey the desperate feelings of Lee Seung-cheon, who has been bullied for having poor households. Choi Won-young also adds tension by playing Hwang Hyeon-do, the top Korea's representative chaebol Doshin Group, who values money highest.

The drama, which features idol actors Yook Sung-jae, Jeong Chae-yeon, and Yeon-woo with the setting of high school, has a relatively low age range of viewers. Looking at the age group watching the clip video, more than 40% of the viewers of the drama were in their 20s.

On the other hand, for "One Dollar Lawyer," 15% of viewers were in their twenties while 40% were in their 40s.
