SEOUL, Nov. 28 (Yonhap) -- "Le Sserafim focuses on putting their stories into the music"

Quintet rookie girl group Le Sserafim cut an appearance among many rookie groups who debuted this year.

Their debut song "FEARLESS" did not only just stay long on the music chart, which is difficult for rookies to even be ranked, but their new track "ANTIFRAGILE" released last month is showing no sign of stepping down from No.2 on Melon's "Top 100" chart

The team's addictive hook and tight bonds between members established stable fandom, and they became one of the main 4th generation girl groups.

"Producer 13," a duo who has been composing, writing lyrics, and producing Le Sserafim's music, said in a written interview with Yonhap News on Monday that, "Our goal is to make good songs that capture honest thoughts and feelings of members so that listeners from all over the world can sympathize and gain courage from their music."

They added, "We believe that this kind of honesty will distinguish them from others."

Le Sserafim displayed their confidence saying "I am fearless if even my scar is part of me" in their debut song "FEARLESS" and "I will go higher, to the top of the world I wished for" in recent song "ANTIFRAGILE."

Producer 13 said, "'FEARLESS' displayed their will to keep going without fear," adding, "regarding the hardships they will inevitably face during the process, with the song 'ANTIFRAGILE,' we wanted to show ambition and promise that 'Le Sserafim will not only give up, but rather become stronger after going through number of trials."

If "FEARLESS" gave calm and minimal feeling, "ANTIFRAGILE" became fancier with the composition and development. "FEARLESS" tried to convey the message clearly and with impact, and the new music developed that story.

Regarding the styling of the team, they explained, "If 'FEARLESS' focused on fancy styling, 'ANTIFRAGILE' reflected powerful and funky feeling of the song," adding, "Beats and base of the song went well with 'hip-hop' style, and we indirectly expressed this album's topic with accessories."

Producer 13 evaluated that, "First comeback would have give them a lot of burden and their pressure to show better stages would have been a lot, but they overcame all with great effort."

Lyrics "Walk like a lion" in the song distinguished itself from other phrases with its unique rapping and strange tone.

Producers said, "Because it's a rare vibe in K-pop scene, depending on who the listener is, how they feel about it will be different, " adding, "We tried to express an ethnic feel, away from the K-pop style, of North American style rap that many people are familiar with," he explained.

They continued, "'Antifragile' is a song based on Reggae, one of the main Latin pop genres, so we desired to express the color and energy of this genre well," adding, "Because the title word 'Antifragile' is not an easy word, we added fun repetition like 'Anti-t-t-t' so that it would be easier and more exciting for listeners."

Through this album's activity, it is evaluated that Eunchae, the youngest member who had a relatively weak presence in the previous work, found her position. In addition, Sakura surprised fans with her dance skills, which improved significantly compared to her past days as HKT48 member in Japan.

Producer 13 said, "Eunchae was the last member to join the team at the time of the debut, and since she was the youngest, we thought she was shy and intimidated," adding, "But through activities and self-made contents, we soon discovered how fun and attractive she is."

Additionally, they said, "So we thought a lot about the distribution of song parts so that she can reveal her presence," hinting "In the side-track 'No Celestial,' there is high proportion of lines for Eunchae. We paid special attention when distributing parts to display her unique freshness as the youngest member."

Regarding Sakura, they praised her as "a member who never settles down despite having gone through quite a long career, cold-heatedly monitors herself and strives for growth," adding, "She is a member with high expectations for developments in the future."

Le Sserafim attracted attention through documentary which captured their desperate debut process. In a similar vien, Kazuha's ballet experience and Sakura·Ki Chae-won's previous activities as girl groups in the lyrics of "ANTIFRAGILE" received attention. This is rare considering that many refrain from referencing prvious activities of members.

Producer 13 said, "Lives before their debut as Le Sserafim is also their lives and because we believed that those experiences were rather a plus than minus, we had no reason to hide it," adding, "Because there is past, there is present, and there will be future."

"Since they made a successful start with the previous work, we thought it was really important to decide on which direction we will provide and how we will get sympathy for the second album. Fortunately, the result was better than we expected. Please look forward to how the members will tell their stories musically in the next album."
