BTS’ 'My Universe' remains on Billboard Global Chart for 29 consecutive weeks

SEOUL, Apr. 20 (Yonhap) – K-pop superband BTS has been constantly entering the Billboard charts with their major hit songs, including “My Universe” released last year.

BTS’ “My Universe“ ranked No. 30 and No. 42 each on “Billboard Global(Excl. U.S.)” and the “Billboard Global 200,” according to Billboard's latest chart on Apr. 19(U.S. Time).

The global chart ranks songs based on streaming and sales in over 200 countries.

BTS has been entering the chart for 29 consecutive weeks since the group released “My Universe” on Sep. 24, 2021. The song also made records on other charts by entering the “Alternative Digital Song Sales” at 20th and “Billboard Canada AC” at 24th.

Besides “My Universe,” other megahit songs were also named on the global chart.

BTS entered the “Billboard Global 200” chart with songs including “Butter”(No. 45), “Dynamite”(No. 57), and “Permission to Dance”(No. 156).

The septet was also named on the “Billboard Global(Excl. U.S.)” with songs “Butter” at 34th, “Dynamite” at 40th, and “Permission to Dance” at 89th.

Although it has been four years since BTS released the album “LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her” in September, 2017, it still ranks No. 3 on “World Album” and No. 55 on “Top Album Sales.”

“MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA,” released in 2019, ranked No. 6 on “World Album” and No. 98 on “Top Album Sales,” while “BE,” released in 2020, ranked No. 4 on “World Albums” and No. 73 on “Top Current Album Sales.”

Other major K-pop singers also set records on Billboard charts.

K-pop boy group Stray Kids’ “ODDINARY” succeeded in remaining on the “Billboard 200” for 4 consecutive weeks by ranking No. 131 on the chart.

K-pop supergroup BIGBANG’s “Still Life,” the group’s first release after a 4-year hiatus, entered the “Billboard 200” for 2 weeks in a row by ranking No. 32, following No. 9 the previous week. The song has been ranking high on the Korea’s major music charts.

Moreover, S. Korean singer Hong Jin-young’s “VIVA LA VIDA” ranked No. 9 on the “World Digital Song Sales.”
