SEOUL, Apr. 24 (Yonhap) -- Chinese freemium music streaming service QQ Music has named the South Korean red-hot rookie girl group NewJeans as one of the Top 10 artists for the first quarter of this year, the group’s agency ADOR confirmed Monday.
NewJeans is the only K-pop singer on this chart, and the quintet’s hit single “Ditto” has also been listed on the music platform’s Top 10 song chart. This monster rookie girl group entered two QQ Music Peak Charts less than a year after its debut, making them the fastest K-pop group to achieve such a feat without prior local activities.
In the meantime, the quintet’s other hit single “OMG” sat in 48th place on the world’s largest streaming platform Spotify, followed by “Ditto” filling up the 110th slot. Their two smash-hit singles successfully maintained their presence in the chart for 16 weeks and 18 weeks in a row, respectively.
