Jeon So-young, I.O.I's Kang Mi-na Cast in Netflix' Horror Series 'Girigo'

SEOUL, March 6 (Yonhap) -- Netflix has announced on Thursday that it will produce a new horror series, Girigo, centered around teenagers.

The show follows high school students who receive sudden death predictions due to a curse from the wish-granting app Girigo. As they struggle to escape the curse, they become entangled in a suspenseful fight for survival.

Rookie actress Jeon So-young will play Se-ah, a promising track athlete with a strong sense of justice, while former I.O.I member Kang Mi-na will take on the role of Na-ri, a popular girl with idol-like visuals.

Baek Sun-ho will portray Se-ah’s boyfriend, Geon-woo, Hyun Woo-seok will play Ha-joon, an intelligent student interested in coding, and Lee Hyo-je will star as Hyung-wook, who successfully has his wish granted through Girigo.

The series will be directed by Park Yoon-seo, known for his work on the Disney+ series Moving.
