SEOUL, Jan. 21 (Yonhap) – S. Korean football player Hwang Hee-chan(26·Wolverhampton), who is recovering from a hamstring injury, promised the fans to try his best to come back with the best performance.
Hwang Hee-chan, who plays in the English Premier League, has given an update through the official social media page of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Jan. 20 afternoon(KST).
In the video, Hwang said in Korean, “Hello, this is Hee-chan,” adding, “After the injury, I am recovering well and have started jogging and training. I will try my best to show my best performance to the fans. Thank you for your support.”
The player suffered a hamstring injury during the 17. Round of the 2021-2022 Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Dec. 16, 2021, and left the pitch in the 16th minute of the first half.
Since then, Wolverhampton expected Hwang to return to play in February.

Hwang Hee-chan, who joined Wolverhampton this season, has netted four goals in 14 Premier League matches.
Hwang’s injury is a blow not only to his team but also to the South Korea national football team.
Hwang is likely to miss the country’s 2022 Qatar World Cup Asian final qualifying matches against Lebanon (Jan. 27) and Syria (Feb.1) from the South Korea national football team.
Paulo Bento, the head coach of the national team, said he would wait a little more for the recovery of the player and take the final decision regarding Hwang’s participation.
