SEOUL, Aug. 11 (Yonhap) – Lee Min-woo of veteran boy band Shinhwa has revealed that his fiancee is pregnant.
Appearing on the KBS 2TV reality show "Mr. House Husband 2" on Saturday, Lee said, "She is not alone – there’s a baby in her belly," announcing that his bride-to-be is expecting.
According to the program, Lee’s fiancee is a third-generation Korean Japanese and a single mother raising a daughter following a divorce.
Lee met her at a gathering of acquaintances in 2013, reunited with her in 2018, and reconnected again years later, leading to a romantic relationship. He said the baby was conceived during a trip to Yangyang, giving it the prenatal nickname "Yangyang."
The show also featured Lee persuading his parents to welcome his fiancee and her daughter into their home.
Lee, who has faced financial hardship after being scammed and having no fixed income, said, "I have a lot to think about, from housing to education, but I believe it’s right to have the baby in Korea, for my parents’ sake. If my family approves, I want us all to live together."
Debuting with Shinhwa in 1998, Lee is known for hit songs such as "Brand New" and "Perfect Man." He also works as a painter and held his first solo exhibition "Purism" in June.
Last month, Lee announced on Instagram that he would marry "a precious person I have known for a long time and share the same feelings with."
