SEOUL, August 4 (Yonhap) -- Yi Sun-sin’s film “Hansan: Rising Dragon” and flight disaster movie “Emergency Declaration,” which was released a week after, compete for the top spot in the S.Korean box office.

According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Friday, “Emergency Declaration” barely surpassed “Hansan” (209,000) with 222,000 audiences on the previous day.

“Emergency Declaration” topped box office for two consecutive days since its release on Wednesday. But the audience number plummeted compared to the opening day, 336,000.

“Hansan,” which is in its second week of release, is getting ahead with a cumulative audience of 3,441,000. As of 8 a.m. Friday, reservation rate of “Hansan” is 34.2%, while “Emergency Declaration” is 31.3%.

Animation movies will also continue their good performances this weekend as the summer vacation begins.

“Minions: The Rise of Gru” kept its third place with 44,000 audiences on previous day. Five animation movies made the top 10: “Pororo Movie_Dragon castle Adventure” (5th), “Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021” (8th), “Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween” (9th), and “Free! -the Final Stroke- The Second Volume” (10th)

Two European movies “Bergman Island” and “Boiling Point” will also be in theater while Korean blockbusters are topping the box office.
