SEOUL, April. 21 (Yonhap) -- "We can’t beat YouTubers by eating a lot anyway. The focus is on how to convey the excitement and joy of eating as it is."
IHQ's leading program "Tasty Guys," which has been going on since 2015, has returned with new members.
Broadcaster Defconn made a fuss at the press conference of "Tasty Guys" held at Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on Thursday, saying, "When I received the call asking me to join the program, I thought, 'It's here.'”
He said, "When the program shooting day approaches, I'm so excited as if I'm receiving a gift," adding, "I usually like to eat, but if I eat together, I eat more."
From the broadcast on the 21st, new members including Defconn, Lee Su-ji and Kim Hae-jun are to join "Tasty Guys." Existing members Kim Min-kyoung, Kim Joon-hyun, and Moon Se-yoon dropped out, and Yoo Min-sang is to appear as it is.
Comedian Lee Su-ji, the only woman in the program, explained, "I'm not a big eater like my seniors, but I'm adding fun by creating situations by imagining how various people will react when I taste food."
"Even if we eat the same food, there are differences in reactions from person to person," she said. "I will show the reactions of various people from children to the elderly like a skit."
Comedian Kim Hae-jun, who drew much attention as Choi Jun, the owner of the cafe, who is a "second character," also expressed his ambition to play the role of the youngest.
Kim Hae-jun said, "My voice is calm, but I have cuteness in me. I will faithfully fulfill the youngest's mission," he said.
Yoo Min-sang, who was left alone among the existing members, said, "The original members were friends for more than 10 years, so they had a family-like atmosphere," adding, "This time, they are cluttered, noisy, and full of excitement like classrooms for the new semester."
"Since the members are old, we can't eat as much as we did in the early days. People who eat a lot like Mukbang YouTubers are called "food fighters." We changed our direction to a "food lover" who eats deliciously with joy rather than eating a lot."
