SEOUL, Nov. 17 (Yonhap) -- "The Policeman's Lineage," a crime film starring Cho Jin-woong and Choi Woo-shik, has confirmed to be released in January 2022, according to film distributor Acemaker Movieworks on Wednesday.
The film, based on author Joh Sasaki's novel with the same title, depicts a story between Park Kang-yoon, the head of the police investigation unit who receives large sums of sponsorship money, and Choi Min-jae, a principled police officer who secretly monitors Park.
Cho plays Park Kang-yoon, who does not care about illegally obtaining information to arrest criminals, while Choi Woo-shik acts as Choi Min-jae, who is assigned to dig up Park's corruption after receiving secret documents about his father, who was also a police officer.
Actor Park Hee-soon will be Hwang In-ho, the chief inspector who entrusts Choi Min-jae with the undercover mission, while actor Kwon Yul will play Na Young-bin, a criminal who only deals with people in the top 1% of society, and Park Myung-hoon as Cha Dong-chul, a criminal who survives after making deals with the police.
"The Policeman's Lineage" is directed by filmmaker Lee Kyu-man of the thriller "Return" (2007) and crime film "Children" (2011)."
