SEOUL, Dec. 15 (Yonhap) -- Actor Jung Joon-ho has been appointed as the co-executive chairman of Jeonju International Film Festival's organizing committee.

According to the organizing committee of Jeonju International Film Festival on Wednesday, Jung has been settled as the co-executive chairman of the film festival at "2022 5th Board of Directors," which took place on the same day at Jeongu Digital Independent Cinema

The board of directors announced that more than half of the seven members with the right to vote approved the appoint of Jung as the co-executive chairman.

Min Sung-wook, vice executive chairman of the film festival, was appointed along with Jeong.

The co-executive chairman system is the first since the film festival has begun.

Two rookie executive chairmen, according to the decision by board of directors, will begin working starting this month and prepare for the 24th film festival.

The term is three years.

An official from the festival said, "We expect that new character will bring change to the festival."
