S.Korean vocal trio SG Wannabe to drop new song as a whole

SEOUL, July 9 (Yonhap) -- After making an appearance on MBC's reality show "Hangout with Yoo," South Korean vocal group SG Wannabe has made a splash on the music charts and will release a new song in three years.

SG Wannabe's new song titled "Good Person (tentative title)" will be released on July 16, announced member Lee Seok-hoon's agency C9 Entertainment on Friday.

This is the first song released by all the members of SG Wannabe since they released "Let's Meet Up Now" in September 2018, and the lyrics delivers gratitude to the member's fans, lovers, friends, and family who have made memories with them.

SG Wannabe will be perform its new song for the first time on the 100th episode of "Hangout with Yoo," which will air on July 17.

In April, the vocal trio sang a number of its biggest hits from the mid 2000s on stage, which made headlines when the public commented on how nostalgic they were after listening to the group.

Since then, SG Wannabe's representative songs such as "Timeless," "Partner for Life," "LaLaLa," "Arirang" and "Crime and Punishment" have swept the top of major local music charts like Melon.

The live video of SG Wannabe singing "Partner for Life" racked up 13.3 million views on YouTube, making it the most-viewed video on the "Hangout with Yoo" YouTube channel.

SG Wannabe, who debuted in 2004 with "Timeless," is considered one of the leading vocal groups in the Korean music industry from the 2000s. At that time, the group popularized medium tempo ballads with strong rhythm and speed while winning the Golden Disc Grand Prize three times.
