SEOUL December 17 (Yonhap) -- Busan International Fireworks Festival will be lighting up the night sky of Gwangalli Beach, Dongbaekseom Island and more on Saturday starting at 7 p.m.

The festival will be held under the theme of “Harmony of Busan”

Starting at 5 Busan city government will be shooting fireworks every thirty minutes to hype up the crowd who are waiting for the festival to kick off.

Moreover, starting at 6 p.m. for 50 minute “Firework Talk Show,” event where they showcase heartwarming stories of Busan people will be held.

Busan International Firework Festival which is expected to play a pivotal role in spreading PR to boost the enthusiasm of the city’s bid for the World Expo 2030 will showcase the firework of Chinese company Sunny starting at 7 p.m. for 15 minutes.

The highlight of the event is a multi firework show which will start at 7:25 and consist of 35 minutes of amusement.

Under segments, “Youth and passion,” “Ocean and Romance,” “Us, once again,” “Busan Harmony” Busan International Firework Festival will showcase fascinating event to its visitors.

Especially the festival will showcase 25 inch wide firework throughout the show and it will replicate niagara falls by dropping the sparks simultaneously within the 1km radius of Gwangandaegyo bridge.

Lastly, the event will end with the segment “Thank you, Curtain call” at 8 p.m. leaving the audience with long lasting impression.

Busan International Firework Festival which will take place in three years due to mass spread of COVID 19, will be the biggest festival Busan will host after the unfortunate crowd crush in Itaewn on Halloween night, therefore the city government is putting all of their effort into keeping the festival safe.

Over 4 thousand security details will be placed throughout the festival to help out with the safety. And over 13 platoons of police, and over 1200 of the special forces will be working along with the security details.

Busan City Government will set up a post in 16 different spots around the Gwangalli Beach so that they can safely control the amount of people so that everyone who visits the scene can enjoy the festival.

To cover up the well known bottle neck spots, city government has increased the amount of security cameras from 16 of them to 64 of them so that they can keep up with the live detail of the festival, and over 22 of the medical vehicles and 7 of medical booths will be placed throughout the festival.
