SEOUL, Feb. 16 (Yonhap) -- Actress Song Hye-kyo is returning to Korean silver screen for the first time in a decade to play an exorcist nun, film distributor announced on Friday.

Song will be starring "Dark Nuns," an occult film directed by Kwon Hyuk-jae, along with main casts Jeon Yeo-been, Lee Jin-wook, Huh Joon-ho, and Moon Woo-jin, film company Jib and distributor NEW said. The film shooting will begin soon, the firm said.

Dark Nuns depicts an exorcist adventure to save a boy trapped by a powerful evil spirit. The movie is sequel to hit film "The Priests," directed by Jang Jae-hyun and released in 2015.

The film hails Song's return to the Korean cinema after starring “My Brillant Life” in 2014 with actor Kang Dong-won. After this film, she appeared in Chinese works such as romance-action film “The Crossing.”

In Dark Nuns, Song takes on the role of Sister Yoonia, who tries to save the boy with strong determination and decisive actions.

Jeon Yeo-been portrays Sister Michaela, a strong-willed nun who assists Sister Yoonia. Lee Jin-wook plays Father Paolo, a psychiatrist who believes he can treat the boy with medicine.

Huh Joon-ho takes on the role of Father Andrea, who performs the ritual to save the boy, while Moon Woo-jin portrays Hee-joon, the boy trapped by the powerful evil spirit.
