"We will sweep K-pop scene in 2022"…'Comeback battle' in January

SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Yonhap) – As there has been a growing interest in K-pop industry, popular K-pop idol groups and talented solo artists have made a series of comeback in the first month of 2022, which drew attention.

ENHYPEN, which is considered as a “boy group of the next generation,” will release the first full repackage album “DIMENSION : ANSWER” on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m., according to the music industry on Monday.

It is the group’s comeback in about 3 months since the release of the first full album “DIMENTION : DILEMMA,” which was released in October, 2021.

The music industry is paying attention to ENHYPEN, who recorded a "million seller" in 1 year since the debut with their first full album. The group’s repackage album exceeded 630,000 copies of presales as of Jan. 7.

Grammy, which is considered as the most prestigious awards in the music industry, recently selected ENHYPEN's album as one of the “30 Must-Hear Albums In 2022” in article through its official website.

The 7-member boy group Mirae will release a new mini album on Jan. 12.

In “Marvelous,” which is their first album in about 3 months since the release of the previous album “Splash,” there will be a title song of the same name and “Dear My Friend,” in which all members participated in writing lyrics.

K-pop boy group Victon, who broke the group’s record in 4 years since the debut with their first full album last year, will make a comeback with “Chronograph” on Jan. 18.

The agency explained, “’Chronograph’ refers to the watch that measures the time intervals of milliseconds and it is the title song of the first album of the group’s trilogy,” adding, “The talented producers have participated in the album to improve the completion.”

Pentagon, who has drawn attention for their outstanding performances and production talents, will release the new mini album “IN:VITE U” on Jan. 24.

Girl groups are also hurriedly preparing for their New Year’s comeback in 2022.

Fromis 9 will drop the fourth mini album “Midnight Guest” on Jan. 17 afternoon.

Fromis 9, which is the girl group formed through Mnet “Idol School” aired in 2017, achieved high rank on the music charts by showing refreshing energy with the special single “Talk & Talk” last year.

“Midnight Guest” has exceeded 80,000 copies of presales in 5 days since they started the presales on Dec. 30 until Jan. 3, according to the distributor YG Plus.

Momoland plans to show off their charms through “Yummy Yummy Love.”

Popular Latin pop singer Natti Natasha has participated in the digital single album, which will be released on Jan. 14. Natti Natasha is known to have been involved in the entire process, including Momoland’s new song and music video.

The comeback of solo artists as well as K-pop idol groups is also expected.

TVXQ’s Chang-min will drop the second mini album “Devil” on Jan. 13.

“Devil,” which is the first album in about 1 year and 9 months since his first mini album “Chocolate,” contains 6 songs, including the title song “Devil,” “Alien,” and “Fever.”

“Fever,” which was first introduced in SM Entertainment’s New Year’s concert, is a song that expresses the feelings of falling in other person’s charms as if one had a terrible fever, and it draws attention as hit singer-songwriter Yoo Young-jin produced the song.

Singer Lena Park, also known as Park Jung-hyun, will also return with a new album in 2 years.

Lena Park, who has released hit songs, such as “I’ll write you a letter,” “In Dreams,” and “You Mean Everything To Me,” will drop the mini album “It’s Winter Again(translated)” on Jan. 12.

“It is a ballad song that reminds you of happy memories with someone with whom you broke up in the middle of winter, but hopes that everything will be forgotten as snow melts in spring,” said the agency.
