SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Yonhap) – South Korean monster rookie girl group NewJeans is evidently emerging as a worldwide force – the group’s latest single “OMG” continues to be a hit on Spotify, the world’s largest streaming platform.

The group’s title track “OMG” and “Ditto,” a track from the same album, sat on No. 24 and No. 18 on the global “Weekly Top Songs” chart, respectively, according to Spotify’s latest chart released on Friday (local time).

“Ditto” had already attracted a whooping 100 million Spotify streams and successfully entered the global “Weekly Top Songs” chart as one of the top 20 tracks for three consecutive weeks.

The group achieved a new milestone by entering 23 national charts in 23 different countries, including No.1 on Taiwan’s “Weekly Top Song” and No. 36 in the U.S. “OMG” garnered even more listeners worldwide by entering the “Weekly Top Song” in 18 countries, as No.3 in Singapore and No.33 in the U.S.

The five-piece girl group also performed both songs on KBS 2TV’s prestigious music program “Music Bank” on Friday as a candidate for first place, and eventually won first place with “OMG.”

“We would like to give our sincere gratitude for this great award,” said NewJeans while giving their acceptance speech as the first-place winner. “Thank you very much, Bunnies (the group’s fandom name). We will pay back your love with future activities.”
