SEOUL, Dec. 25 (Yonhap) -- “Spider-man: No Way Home” is Korea’s No.1 hit movie in 2021 by beating the Korean movie “Escape from Mogadishu.”
The latest “Spider-man” series, released on Dec. 15, garnered 4,170,000 audiences nationwide as of 7 a.m. on Saturday, according to Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The film became this year’s biggest hit after outnumbering previous No. 1 hits like “Escape from Mogadishu,” which surpassed 3 million audiences.
It is the fastest movie released in South Korea to garner 4 million viewers in 11 days since the COVID-19 pandemic started early last year. The film "Deliver Us From Evil,” released in August 2020, surpassed the 4 million record in 18 days.
