SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Yonhap) -- Indie rock group Band Nah has denied allegations that its vocalist, Na Sang-hyun, engaged in inappropriate physical contact at a past drinking gathering, vowing to take legal action.

The band’s agency, January, said Monday, “The alleged situations involving members of Band Nah raised by some online users are fabricated and do not exist,” adding that it has filed complaints over defamation, business obstruction, insult and dissemination of false information under the Information and Communications Network Act.

The allegations circulated on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, claimed Na had touched a woman inappropriately during a past drinking session.

Amid the controversy, Na issued an apology in May, saying, “I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have felt discomfort or displeasure due to my past behavior.” The agency stressed, however, that the apology was intended to take moral responsibility before the facts were fully verified and insisted the claims are untrue.

January added it is working with investigators to identify X users who spread “malicious falsehoods and insulting expressions” about the band.

Formed in 2014, Band Nah has since released multiple albums.
